For all classes wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. A small towel is helpful. For classes with shoes please have non marking indoor shoes to keep our studio clean. WATER! Hydration is important so please bring a water bottle. The only other things needed are a smile and a healthy attitude!
Zumba Gold is designed for beginners, mobility impaired and older adults. It's Zumba slowed down. All the fun and all the moves done at a slower pace. Yoandra will help all attendees to participate in the program at their own level of fitness. Chairs are used for stability or for when the legs get tired. Small weights can be used for toning when a bit of a challenge is needed. Yoandra has created an atmosphere that is friendly and inviting. It's amazing how great a work out can make you feel!
Belly Dancing is a beautifully, fun way to move your body. This class is designed for the beginner. Come learn the art of belly dancing in an environment that is safe and supportive. No egos allowed! When it comes to belly dancing size does not matter, in fact I think those of us with bigger hips make our bells jingle louder! Keeping our bodies healthy requires us to move in a variety of ways and it has to be fun or we won't keep with it. I look forward to having fun with all of you as we discover how to move our bodies. Wear comfy clothes and indoor shoes or bare feet. The center has scarf belts for sale in the reception area if you wish but it is not necessary.
Whole Body Workout with Shane Robertson. Shane is a certified personal trainer. He offers personalized programs in a semi private setting. His style of training combines martial arts techniques and calisthenics. He is able to accommodate all fitness levels. He has a very good rapport with young men that want to get moving and get buff. Get those geeks off the computer for an hour and get them moving. Their health will thank you. He can accommodate those with injuries and health issues. Remember those back exercises the doctor gave you? How about the Physio exercise you are supposed to do at home? Do you do them? Bring them to Shane and he will work with you on them. You can not repair an injury without working at it. Having a place to do the exercises and someone to hold you accountable is a good step towards a better quality of life.
Dance Classes. Group, semi-private and private settings. Yoandra (with the help of her handsome husband Eric) teaches a variety of dance steps. We run 6 week Couples Salsa classes at the center on a regular basis. She is also open to teaching couples and groups privately. Maybe you are heading for holidays and would like to know some of the local dance moves. Or you are getting married and would like to have a beautiful or entertaining dance choreographed for the bride and groom or for the whole wedding party. Get the girls and guys together and have a dance choreographed for the prom or other school function. Yoandra is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to dance moves.
